- What is your experience as a tutor or teacher?
I have been teaching and working with young people since my high school days. Most recently I earned my Single Subject Teaching credential from UCR where I had an opportunity to do my student teaching under a nationally awarded AP U.S. History teacher. There I was able to work one on one with his students who needed help. I have also taught classes at the UCR Upward Bound summer program, which serves low income, potential first generation college students. Currently I am a certificated sub for Murrieta Valley USD by day, and a private tutor at night!
- Specialties – What subjects are you best at?
I am your tutor for all things Social Science! My specialty is AP U.S. History, but I can also do World History, Government, Economics, as well as Literature and essay composition.
- What days and times are you available to tutor?
I am available Tuesday and Thursday nights anytime after 4pm; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights anytime after 6pm; and Saturday mornings after 10am.
- Where did you attend school? What degrees do you have?
I have a BA in History and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science, both I which I earned at the University of California, Riverside.
- What cities are you okay with tutoring in (i.e. how far are you willing to drive to tutor)?
Corona, Norco, Riverside, Eastvale, Chino Hills.
- What are your hobbies when you are not working?
Outside of work my passion is music. I play guitar and sing at my local church. I also enjoy reading philosophy, theology, and anything that will further my education.
- What accomplishments have you achieved while working as a tutor/teacher?
Through tutoring I have been able to see countless of students achieve success in classes they previously struggled with and/or become much more confident in their essay writing skills.
- What do you enjoy the most about tutoring/teaching?
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student achieve his or her academic goals. Also, seeing previously confusing or frustrating concepts “click” when they achieve understanding; I love watching and helping that happen!
