- What is your experience as a tutor or teacher?
While pursuing my dreams to become a teacher one day, I have been assisting children from the ages of preschool to 12th grade with their schoolwork and their homework for as long as I can remember. I am currently tutoring a girl in the fourth grade who is currently struggling in math.
- Specialties – What subjects are you best at?
My strengths are Math – Elementary level math, Basic Math, Algebra, and Algebra II. I am also very skilled and have a lot of patience when it comes to working with kids who are at the Elementary level.
- What days and times are you available to tutor?
Mondays – anytime
Tuesdays – anytime before 5:30pm or after 7pm
Wednesday- anytime before 5:30pm or after 7 pm
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – anytime before 5pm
- Where did you attend school? What degrees do you have?
I graduated from Santiago High School in the year of 2012 with a 3.7 GPA and now I am continuing my education as a sophomore at Grand Canyon University maintaining a 4.0 GPA and majoring in Early Childhood Education.
- What cities are you okay with tutoring in (i.e. how far are you willing to drive to tutor)?
I currently live in Corona so I would prefer to tutor near my house; however I am okay with some parts of Eastvale as long as I am not driving too far out of my way.
- What are your hobbies when you are not working?
When I am not working I like to spend time with my family, go out with friends, whether that’s going to a new movie, relaxing on the beach, or taking spontaneous trips to Disneyland. I also enjoy babysitting in my free time.
- What accomplishments have you achieved while working as a tutor/teacher?
While tutoring children in elementary level classes, I have seen so much improvement and also have made the kids enjoy going to school. Many kids get frustrated while doing their work, but I help them understand their material, get them organized, and help them feel comfortable with asking questions. I have had the children that I tutor tell me they do better on tests, and become more comfortable with the classroom setting.
- What do you enjoy the most about tutoring/teaching?
I love the feeling when the student reaches the point of understanding and no longer has frustration towards the things they are learning. It is so amazing to know that I helped them reach their goal of being able to do their homework without crying or feeling like they are not smart. In reality all children are smart, it’s just that some of them need a little extra help or even a little extra push. It is so rewarding to help children understand concepts that they never thought were possible to understand.
