The Tutoring Solution’s Tutor: Julissa Hernandez

  • What is your experience as a tutor or teacher?

I tutored previously for the Academic Advantage as a one-on-one tutor for ESL students. I was also employed as a health aide in which I assisted students in Special Ed classes.

  • What subjects are you best at?

I can tutor English (up to AP level), Language Arts, History (up to AP level), Reading, etc (all social sciences). I can also tutor Spanish (up to the college level) and Elementary Math.

  • What is your schedule like? What days and times are you available to tutor?

Monday – Friday – Anytime after 5 PM.

Weekends – Completely open.

  • Where did you attend school? What degrees do you have?

I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with my B.A. in Media Studies and Spanish

  • What cities can you tutor in (i.e. how far are you willing to drive to tutor)?

I can drive within 25 miles of Ontario (91764).

  • Are you open to tutoring students via Skype or another online platform?


  • What are your future career goals?

I plan on obtaining my Masters degree.

  • What are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun?

I like to stay active, at the gym and playing soccer. Also going to the beach, camping, going out with friends.

  • What accomplishments have you achieved while working as a tutor/teacher?

With my previous students I increased their standards by at least 5 percent in a 2-month period.

  • What do you enjoy the most about tutoring/teaching?

I enjoy seeing students grow and becoming more confident in their abilities.
