- What is your experience as a tutor or teacher?
I started tutoring in 2012 at Cal Poly Pomona during my undergraduate studies. I was hired as a Professor’s Assistant where I would take on some of their responsibilities such as lecturing and leading in class discussion. The Assistant position took place in the Physics department so I had a chance to reinforce the mathematical concepts as well as the science of the course material. In the beginning of 2013 I began to work for a company that provides K-12, Mathematics and English, in-home tutoring to students who qualify for SES (Supplemental Educational Services). I am presently working as an SES tutor and tutor several other students in Mathematics.

- What are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun?
I like to read and learn constantly. There is so much fascinating information out there. I also like to play the guitar and occasionally play with other musicians. I believe the study of music and its theory has helped me with my understanding of Mathematics and also creates a balance in my life.
- What accomplishments have you achieved while working as a tutor/teacher?
I am very proud of the fact that I was recently able to increase one of my student’s Mathematics grade from a C to an A in about 3 months of tutoring.
- What do you enjoy the most about tutoring/teaching?
I enjoy sharing with others, the two subjects I enjoy the most in the Universe. Science and Mathematics are very important to us as a civilization and sharing the subject matter with other individuals can be a very rewarding experience, especially when the student achieves their transformative “Ah Ha!” moment.
