She is a basketball player with a busy and often hectic schedule.
After receiving a “D” on the first semester report card of her junior year in Algebra 2, and starting off the second semester with yet another ”D”, we realized we needed more help; quickly. This upcoming report card was going to be an important transcript, as it is used for college applications. (Athletes who want to play their sport in college do not only have to be good in their sport, but it is expected to have good grades also).
Your tutoring service was recommended to us by a friend. This is how we met Karen.
Karen first came to my work place to meet with Natalie and another student, and after a few sessions, we switched to private tutoring. Karen was always prompt and very friendly. She was flexible enough to keep up with our crazy schedule, sometimes even coming to our home in the evening, for tutoring, on very short notice.
Natalie, who is a good student, with A’s and B’s usually, has good work habits, but always had a hard time in math. She just needed that extra support; the “other way” of explaining something, or simply explaining it just one more time. Karen was very patient and understanding. I liked the fact that often she asked Natalie the questions, knowing that if Natalie can explain it to her, she knew how to do it.
Natalie worked her way up to a C+ before finals. We were all nervous when it came to finals, hoping she would be able to at least maintain that C. But imagine our surprise and excitement when she ended up with a B- as her final grade! We were very happy.
Now, Natalie will do summer school to improve her grade from the first semester. I wish we would have contacted you sooner. Karen will be available if needed.
We will definitely be working again with Karen and your tutoring service. Thank you very much!
Next up… SAT test in the fall. Keep your fingers crossed.”

We have really enjoyed working with Marion and Natalie. In June 2015, we selected Natalie as our Student of the Month – Marion sent us the comments above, talking about their experience with The Tutoring Solution. We look forward to continue working with Natalie and seeing her continue to prosper in school.
